40th PHASA Convention & AGM

VENUE: Champagne Sports Resort, Central Drakensberg

DATES: 20 - 22 November 2017

The Resort:

Champagne Sports Resort has been striving to make this award winning resort the perfect place for work and play. This is a difficult balance to achieve but following recent developments we believe we have created a truly unique destination catering for all guest requirements in an absolutely spectacular setting.

Situated in the tranquility of the Central Drakensberg, boasting the most spectacular view of Champagne Castle and Cathkin Peak, lies Champagne Sports Resort. This cosy hideaway's unique combination of convenient location, country club atmosphere, luxury accommodation and friendly staff makes packing your bags to leave this eternal place a challenge.

Champagne Sports Resort is more than just a hotel in the mountains, it's a unique experience. From the 18-hole championship golf course to the roaming herds of Blesbok and Impala and the rare birdlife that inhabit the estate, there is something for everyone to enjoy. And, with five dams stocked with either bass or trout, as well as outstanding sporting facilities and cultural activities, this enduring resort provides a balance between recreation for sports enthusiasts and tranquility for those seeking relaxation.

From the moment you arrive at our front door you will feel the stress of the city has been left far behind. Self-contained, free standing thatched cottages provide the finest accommodation, and delectable fare and sumptuous banquets coupled with every possible creature comfort makes Champagne Sports Resort the ultimate 'berg experience.

Only a three-and-a-half hours drive from Johannesburg and 2-hours from Durban, the resort is ideally situated for both relaxing leisure weekends and for corporate conferences.

Conservation and Empowerment Fund:

The PHASA Conservation and Empowerment Fund will report back to members on progress made with the Conservation Research Fund’s leopard and predator project. Members will also get feedback on other projects, such as the Fund’s involvement in K9 anti-poaching initiatives in the Kruger National Park and Kwa-Zulu Natal as well as transformation and empowerment projects across the country.

The convention is an excellent opportunity for new members to become acquainted with our industry, and meet and learn from the “old hands”, and for our young professional hunters to meet our outfitters and, hopefully, obtain some hunting days.

We encourage all our members to attend.
